NIBR published “Biodiversity Statistics of Korea 2018”
NIBR published “Biodiversity Statistics of Korea 2018” (“the 2018 Statistics”) covering statistic data on a total of 50,827 Korean indigenous species.
NIBR has published the Biodiversity Statics of Korea every year since 2013 in accordance with “Act on the Conservation and Use of Biological Diversity” and government innovation policies that require open data for general public.
The 2018 version provides for the first time ever the family-level taxonomic data on the 50,827 species collected as of 31 December 2018.
The 2018 Statistics covers the number of Korean indigenous species by classification, species subject to national protection and management, current status of nationally protected areas and so on.
The 2018 Statistics will be made available at www.kbr.go.kr and www.species.nibr.go.kr in the pdf format. The book will also be distributed to central and local government agencies, libraries, and other relevant institutions in Korea.
